Hi, I’m John Bress, owner of Covenant Coatings 323.

Painting runs in my family—my father is a painter, and my grandfather was a paint chemist—so you could say it’s in my DNA. But owning a painting company wasn’t something I ever planned. My life took a different path early on: I struggled with addiction from a young age, dropped out of school, and started working as a painter under my father’s company.

For years, addiction made it impossible to work consistently. I sought help at several institutions, but nothing seemed to stick—until 2018, when I attended a faith-based recovery center in Dallas, TX. Since then, I’ve been clean—praise God.

Returning to work, I only knew one trade: painting. Over the years, I’ve worked with some amazing companies and gained valuable experience. I also saw firsthand many of the frustrations homeowners face: contractors overcharging, subcontracting to unknown crews, painters showing up late (or not at all), poor communication, and much more. These experiences, combined with my time in the addiction ministry, inspired me to start Covenant Coatings 323—a company built on integrity, reliability, and care.

I live in Denton County, TX with my wonderful wife, Jessica, and our two beautiful daughters, Addison and Paisley. We are both in recovery and share incredible stories of redemption. Without my amazing wife and family, Covenant Coatings 323 would not exist. We are excited to serve you and your family with the same care, honesty, and excellence that we hold dear in our own lives.
